AL138 contains sodium bicarbonate and co-enzyme A. It does not contain L-glutamine and HEPES.

[AL146] Ham’s Nutrient Mixture F12, Coon’s modification was developed to determine optimal conditions for obtaining viable hybrids by treatment of parental cells with sendai virus. The medium was modified by doubling the concentration of amino acids and pyruvate and adding ascorbic acid. AL146 is Coon’s modification of Nutrient Mixture F-12 Ham without L-glutamine.

[AL149] DMEM is a modification of Basal Medium Eagle (BME) that contains four-fold concentration of amino acids and vitamins. Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium with 1gm per litre of glucose, 25mM HEPES buffer, sodium bicarbonate and sodium pyruvate.

[AL149A] Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium with L-glutamine, 1gm per litre of glucose, 25mM HEPES buffer, sodium bicarbonate and sodium pyruvate. HEPES, a zwitterionic buffer having a pKa of 7.3 at 37ºC prevents the initial rise in pH that tends to occur at the initiation of a culture and increases the buffering capacity of the medium.

[AL150A] RPMI 1640 medium is extensively used for a wide range of anchorage dependant cell lines. The medium is known to support growth of cells both in presence of 5-20% FBS and in absence of FBS. AL150A is modified RPMI-1640 medium supplemented with L-glutamine and sodium bicarbonate. It does not contain glucose and HEPES.

By eliminating calcium, it can facilitate growth of cells in suspension cultures. AL154A contains Earle's salts, L-Glutamine, sodium bicarbonate and sodium pyruvate.
